Black Forest CoffeeCake

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
3 cups buttermilk baking mix (e.g. Bisquick)
1/2 cup sugar
4 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
1/2 tsp almond extract
3 eggs
2/3 cup water
1 (21-ounce) can dark sweet cherry filling or topping, undrained
6 ounces (1 cup) semisweet chocolate chips

1. Preheat ove to 350F. In a large bowl, combine cocoa, baking mix, sugar, butter, almond extract, eggs, and water. Beat with an electric mixer on medium speed 15-20 seconds.

2. Spread half of batter in a well-greased 7 1/2 x 11 3/4 -inch baking dish. Pour undrained cherry filling over batter and sprinkle chocolate chips over filling. Spoon remaining batter on top, allowing some of the filling to show through.

3. Bake 25-30 minutes. Cut into squares and serve warm or at room temp. Serves 8-10 people. Also great a la mode.
